Animal Book Club
Third Thursdays at 6:00 pm at Botanical in Charlottesville (2025 schedule coming soon)
If you love reading and animals, Animal Book Club is for you! Through the lens of novels and nonfiction books, we’ll explore the ethics and emotions of our complex relationships with all creatures great and small. It’s more fun if you read the book in advance, but it’s absolutely not required. For details, please select a date.
September 10: Merle’s Door by Ted Kerasote
October 8: The Good Good Pig by Sy Montgomery
November 21: West with Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge
December 19: My Beloved Monster by Caleb Carr
Animal Book Club is co-hosted by Peter Morville and Catherine Fae. We meet at Botanical (421 E Main St, Charlottesville, VA 22902) on the Downtown Mall. We park at the Market Street Garage (and have our tickets validated at JMRL Central Library for 3 free hours of parking). We look forward to meeting you!
